Who We Are
Welcome to Gripz, We are the faces behind the brand! our names are Jack Hodgkiss & Joe Philbin. Joe is a professional Rugby player for Warrington Wolves and is a Great Britain international and Jack is a construction business owner of the JALC group. We have been friends for many years and In March 2020 when the first lockdown hit our jobs and lives were put on hold and we decided to team up and create Gripz!
Our Mission
We wanted to build a sports accessories brand that had strong values so before we talked about the products we wanted to bring to market we spoke about our reasons ‘WHY’ we wanted to build this brand. We want to be the brand who gives back to the community and to grass roots sports who have done so much for us. We are super proud to be a club sponsor of Culcheth Eagles (Joe’s first rugby team!) We also donated 20% of all sales in one month to MIND charity for mental health as well as donating 50 pairs of socks and 50 snoods to the homeless of our home town of Warrington. Also we wanted to build a brand that we would be proud to wear and put our names to!
Our Commitment
We both have played grass roots sports since the age of 4 and Joe went on to make it in rugby and as a top level athlete you are looking for products that will give you a competitive edge over the opposition. After wearing multiple brands of grip socks and never being fully satisfied,some had grips on the inside of the sock and gave blisters, some ripped easily and others fitting weren’t quite right (and were very expensive!) so we decided to launch our first product and created the best grip socks on the market the Gripz Classics!
